This video demonstrates the different ways to compare narrative changes in the WIOA State Plan Portal.

During the two year modification process, especially, it is important to quickly view which narratives have been changed.

On your 'My Plans' [main] page, select the state plan. First, we will demonstrate the Narrative Changes Report at the state plan level. Below the state plan name, Select Narrative Changes Report. You must create a new report every time. If you see data on this page, you'll also see when the report was last created. Select 'Create Report.' Then select 'Confirm.' The new report is created.

Navigate left and right to view the reports columns: 'Year,' 'State,' 'Section' (including all sections), 'Requirement,' and finally, 'Compare Changes.' Let's select the link of one of the Requirements. This opens the narrative requirement. To view the detailed changes made since the previously published version, select 'Compare Changes.'

The 'Compare Changes' view is the heart of what has changed in a narrative. It displays deleted text highlighted in red. It displays added text highlighted in green. You can navigate up and down as well as left and right to view the full text. When you are finished reviewing the content, select your browser's back button to return to the narrative.

Now we will view the corresponding narrative from the previously published plan. Select the 'View corresponding narrative from previous plan year' link. We are now viewing the same narrative from the previously published plan year. The title of the page indicates the plan year. After reviewing this version's narrative, select the back button to return to the current narrative. Select the back button again to return to the Narrative Changes report.

Now we are going to jump directly to the red / green 'Compare Changes' view of the narrative from the report. Scroll all the way to the right and select the 'Compare Changes' link for the narrative you want to view. You see the red / green 'Compare Changes' display again.

Select 'My Plans' in the menu to return to the My Plans main page. We're going to select the plan again, to create the report at the section level, displaying changed narratives in only one section. Select the plan name. Navigate to the section where you want to create the Narrative Changes Report. Select the arrow to open the section. In the Section View, select 'Narrative Changes Report' below the title of the section. Now, create the report just as before. Select 'Create Report.' Select 'Confirm.' This report contains the same columns as the previous report, except this one only displays narratives in one section. Again, navigate all the way to the right to the 'Compare Changes' link, which jumps into the red / green 'Compare Changes' view of the narrative. Use your browser's back button to return to the report.

Lastly, this report can also be downloaded. If you download this report, the text in the 'Requirement' and 'Compare Changes' columns will also be active links.
